Just outside Caherdaniel, Ireland, lies Derrynane beach. Very well known in County Kerry, it boasts fine sand, crystal-clear (albeit cold, but turquoise) water and a breathtaking view of wild Kerry. It’s a beautiful, wild place, perfect for a break or a picnic!

Visit Derrynane Beach

A wild Irish beach!

Admittedly, Derrynane Beach isn’t necessarily the place to sunbathe while complaining about the sweltering heat. We’re in Ireland, and even in summer, the water is still a tad cold (although there are plenty of brave bathers)!

Nevertheless, the beach is an ideal place to recharge your batteries, take a deep breath of sea air, stroll barefoot and enjoy a picnic while admiring the rolling waves.

Derrynane Beach has a charm all of its own that will make you feel alone in the world, disconnected from your daily routine. An ideal spot for a siesta, a stopover, or simply to enjoy the show!

Bring a towel to sit on and a cap: in fine weather, even if the beach can be windy, the sun is often treacherous!
