Diamond Hill is part of the Twelve Bens, one of Ireland’s most impressive mountain ranges. It’s one of the smallest peaks in the range, with an altitude of just 445 metres (making it ideal for a gentle hike, without too much effort)…
If you’re a walker, you can also climb Diamond Hill. The level is relatively low, and may be suitable for family outings (children are quite capable of doing this walk, provided they have minimal equipment, such as hiking boots, backpack, water and food, etc.).
The hike starts from the Park House in Letterfrack, and takes you up to the summit via a short, signposted path through superb heath and bog landscapes. The view from the top is breathtaking: don’t forget your camera, it would be a real shame not to immortalize the view of the rest of Connemara!
Allow around 1h20 for the driveway and the same time for the descent…
