County Wicklow (Contae Chill Mhantáin) is a region in Ireland with exceptional natural heritage. Wild and authentic, it has the advantage of being close to the Dublin area. Dubliners often go there for a weekend stroll to get some fresh air.
County Wicklow is primarily appreciated for its wild nature, with its national park, imposing mountains, but also for its rugged coastline, paradisiacal beaches, and archaeological heritage (such as the Glendalough site). A true haven for hikers, the county offers countless sporting, intellectual, and recreational activities. Plenty to enjoy whether you travel alone, as a couple, or with family!
For city dwellers, we especially recommend not missing the towns of Wicklow, Bray, and Arklow, small very pleasant towns where it is nice to stroll, visit museums, and taste local Irish cuisine. The county’s inhabitants are quite friendly and welcoming, and enjoy hearing how fabulous their country is. Don’t hesitate to meet them!
