Donore is a small village in Ireland, in County Meath, renowned for hosting on its land one of Europe’s largest archaeological complexes: Brú na Bóinne (comprising Newgrange, Dowth and Knowth: imposing cairns, open to visitors!).

A village renowned for its many historical attractions!

It is also close to the famous Boyne Valley, the site of one of the most iconic battles in Irish history, on 12 July 1690! It pitted the army of William III of Orange (Protestant) against his predecessor, the Catholic King James II of England, and had terrible repercussions on Irish history (even to this day!).
