Sheep’s Head (also known as Muntervary) is a pretty Irish peninsula, located near Bantry Bay and Dunmanus Bay (Co. Cork). Popular with walkers, it is best known for its rugged beauty and steep cliffs overlooking the ocean.

Let’s face it: the Sheep’s Head peninsula doesn’t really have any tourist attractions, apart from the natural beauty of its landscapes and its 3 small villages (Durrus, Ahakista and Kilcrohane). Walkers heartily recommend the Sheep’s Head Way, an 88km hiking trail. You’ll then be able to hike along magnificent trails that follow the coast to the tip of the peninsula.

The scenery is simply fabulous, and you can stop off at any of the 3 local villages. Don’t hesitate to stop by: their pubs are warm and friendly, and the locals are very welcoming!
