Errisbeg Mountain is a pretty mountain in Connemara. At 280 metres above sea level, it overlooks the village of Roundstone, and is a superb playground for hikers and wilderness enthusiasts. The area is splendid, and ideal for discovering the very soul of Connemara!
Errisbeg Mountain (also called Errisbeg, or Iorras Beag) is a mountain that requires a good level of walking. An unmarked, sometimes difficult path leads to the summit, but it takes a good 2 hours to get there.
Once up there, you’ll see your efforts rewarded, with fabulous panoramic views of Roundstone village, the Roundstone Bog, and Dogs Bay and Gorteen Bay (both of which boast magnificent sandy beaches!). Don’t hesitate to go there in good weather: the panorama is rather limited in bad, and you might be disappointed…
