Puffin Island (Oileán na gCánóg in Irish Gaelic) is an Irish island located in County Kerry, in the extension of the Iveragh Peninsula. A true nature reserve, the island is famous for its large seabird colony.

The island is easily recognizable with its two-humped profile (locally nicknamed Camel Island by the Irish).
Very small, it measures 1.5km in length and 700 metres in width, but rises to an altitude of 159 metres. The Iveragh peninsula is only separated from Puffin Island by a 250-metre narrow strait.
Closed to visitors, Puffin Island has been an important reserve since 1982, bringing together important ornithological species such as shearwaters, puffins and all kinds of seabirds.
Although not accessible, it can be admired from afar on a hike. The view is sublime and suggests a wild and authentic island, where nature triumphs!
