Smithwick’s Experience – Warren LeMay – cc
Smithwick’s beer is a Kilkenny institution!
Brewed for centuries, all it needed was a museum to attract the crowds!
Now it’s a done deal, and the museum has gone all out!
The program includes a look back at the history of Smithwick’s distillery, an overview of traditional beer brewing techniques (whether brewed the old-fashioned way, in the Middle Ages or today), and a tasting of their beverages. Learn about John Smithwick’s life in Kilkenny during the 18th century, and his vision of expansion for his brewery.
The museum is magnificent, and easily rivals Dublin’s Guinness Storehouse. Giant screens, authentic medieval decor and fun, entertaining displays… You won’t have time to get bored! Beer lovers and history buffs will easily find what they’re looking for.
You can take away some of the brewery’s products in the Smithwick’s Experience shop. Drink in moderation, of course!
