County Wicklow (Contae Chill Mhantáin) is a region of Ireland with an exceptional natural heritage. Wild and authentic, it has the advantage of being close to the Dublin area. In fact, Dubliners often go there for a weekend stroll to get some fresh air.
County Wicklow is appreciated above all for its wild nature, with its national park and imposing mountains, but also for its rugged coastline, heavenly beaches and archaeological heritage (such as the site of Glendalough). A true landmark for walkers, the county offers countless sporting, intellectual and leisure activities. So, whether you’re going alone, as a couple or with the family, you’re in for a treat!
If you’re a city dweller, we’d advise you not to miss the towns of Wicklow, Bray and Arklow, which are very pleasant little towns to stroll around, visit museums and sample local Irish cuisine. The county’s inhabitants are quite friendly and personable, and like to hear how fabulous their country is. Don’t hesitate to come and meet them!
