County Derry (also known as Londonderry) is a beautiful part of Northern Ireland, renowned for its beautiful coastline and countryside. It also boasts some pretty cool archaeological sites in excellent state of preservation.

A region steeped in history...

But the Derry region is also infamous for its painful history, with 2 communities: Republican Catholics and Unionist Protestants, both of whom have been at loggerheads since the second half of the 20th century. It was in this region, and more specifically in the town of Derry, that the terrible episode of Bloody Sunday (1972) took place. Fortunately, the current peace process has helped to improve the political situation in the region, and conflicts have declined sharply...
